QuestionI am looking forward to these camera's, but how long will the battery last on a single charge? If i leave for a week for work, will the battery carry it the entire week? Or will i have to charge it multiple times in a week during bad weather? Thanks

- Answer Battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and camera settings that you select. You can extend the battery life of your camera by adjusting video quality, length of video clips, time between recorded events, and using activity zones to monitor specific areas. Here are some typical scenarios: Busy: About 1.5 months battery life (about 20 - 25 recorded events per day) Typical: About 3 months battery life (about 9 - 12 recorded events per day) Quiet: About 7 months battery life (about 2 - 4 recorded events per day) Also, Nest Cam only takes around 4-5 hours to fully charge the battery.

- Answer Yes, when plugged in, it will record 24/7. WARNING -- this camera can not be viewed in the old Nest app, only in the Home app. ALSO, since this camera is not being "added" to the Nest "environment", it can not be viewed with a browser!

- Answer Google sells longer power cords for this camera separately. They are available in ~15feet & ~30feet. The prices are $34.99 & $39.99. You can also use an extension cord if you need more length.

- Answer Yes. The Nest Cam (Battery) can continue to record and save events to their internal memory, and then upload the video to the cloud when they reconnect to the Nest service.

QuestionAfter (unfortunately) discovering that the new nest cam DOES NOT record 24x7 to allow video scrubbing in Battery mode - I have plugged my new camera in... but I am still not seeing a way to scrub video - it still only displays video snippets (events)?

- Answer The reality is that it depends on what generation of camera you are using. Most of the newer Nest cameras from Google only allow video event viewing and not scrubbing and only work in the Google Home app. If you want the video scrubbing feature, you will need to buy an older Nest camera that will work in the Nest app. For me, the moment they take this feature away from older cameras (if they do), I will dump my six cameras and move to a new camera setup because this is why I invested so much into my Nest camera system. I was all in on Nest - smoke alarms and thermostat too. (Feeling a little abandoned)

- Answer I just returned this camera, because of this issue. You can't view this NEST camera in the NEST app! Google is forcing people to sue their "Home" app. Two reasons I returned this camera -- (1) I now need to use the Home app and the Nest App, because certain Nest devices do not appear in the Home app. (2) MORE IMPORTANTLY -- you can not view this new camera from a browser!

To ensure the safety, security and protection of both Nest Cam (Battery) and the cable that you will use, especially if you will place it outdoors, it’s always a better option to use the Nest Cam Weatherproof cable instead. QuestionI would like to install a camera above my detached garage. Is there a limit fir the distance from my router to the Google camera? Do I need a wifi extender?

- Answer Distance isn’t a limitation of the camera. It is all up to how you have your wireless network designed. If you can’t get good speed tests from your cell phone in that location then the cameras aren’t going to have good connection either. Every home or location is different and it is impossible for someone to give you specifics on your configuration. However like I said test the internet speed with your cell phone in that specific location and if you can’t get good speeds on your phone then yes you will need a wifi extender.

- Answer Yes, you will be able to scroll and see all the cameras in 1 account from Nest. If you plan to buy 6 of them, Google is giving you a price discount right now directly from their Google store. A 6 pack on Google is selling for $596.00 as of 8/20/21.

- Answer Hey there, MrMAC! Thanks for your interest! You can plug your camera to a power outlet with the included power adapter for continuous power. However, the included power adapter is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use. We suggest using a compatible weatherproof cable (sold separately). Contact your retailer for inquiries. Also, the Nest Cam (battery) has a local storage fallback that allows it to record videos for up to one hour without Wi-Fi. - Answer I have one of my cameras pointing down my road i tested it the sensor pick people up about 300ft max for bigger things like cars you can be about 400ft thats for the sensors. Sensors got to pick up something for it to record it as activity
