I have the Nest cam battery which is wired and in cold temps mine stops recording. In the Home app I see recordings then for a time nothing. Sometimes it's a few mins while just a few days ago when it was pretty cold outside, the cam stopped recording which lasted a few hours. Not good for a security cam and winter just started. Not a big fan of this camera. I may not continue with my Nest Aware and just let it expire since they won't give you the money back for unused months. Ring doesn't have these probelms.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think at a certain point it actually starts running off battery powered so it should work effortlessly but it probably won't charge till it warms up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. Nest Cam (Battery) won’t operate effortlessly below -40 degrees F, even when connected with a weatherproof cable. The battery settings may either display a known or unknown battery status when the device is outside it’s normal operating temperature. You’ll see the “Extreme temperature” icon while on the live view. If the device temperature goes below 0°C, the battery widget will display the message “Extreme cold temperature may drain battery. Learn more”. The Nest Cam may completely shut down until the temperature returns to normal. You can bring the camera inside and let it warm up in a warm and dry place, or reinstall your camera on a warmer day.
