It depends on how strong your Wi-Fi signal is. Your camera may be out of range if more than 25 feet from the router and can become disconnected due to weak signal. If your camera is mounted too far from your Wi-Fi router, you may need to extend your Wi-Fi network’s range using an extender, boosters or additional Wi-Fi access points. Nest cameras can connect to your Wi-Fi on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bandwidths, but 5GHz bandwidth has a smaller coverage compared to 2.4GHz.

I have multiples of these cameras, distance to router(s) vary from 20-50 feet. the farther out ones take more time to show up in app.

Mybrouter is at keast 20-30 feet from cameras and they work fine.
