Q: QuestionI deleted my camera from the app to reinstall and now it will not connect to my wifi/router. Is the camera shot? How do I get it to connect? I've followed all the steps and the light will not turn blue to continue setup.
Asked by AnnS.
- A:Answer Hi there, AnnS. Thank you for asking about your Nest Cam (battery). If you've already tried restarting or turning off and unplugging your router, smartphone and the Nest Cam itself for 30 seconds, then we recommend trying the troubleshooting steps below: - Factory reset the camera: This will erase all settings, including the Wi-Fi connection. - Check network settings: If your Wi-Fi network has a hidden SSID or uses guest network mode, ensure you're entering the correct information during setup. Additionally, confirm your network uses WPA2/WPA3 security protocol and not WEP or WPA, which Nest cameras don't support. - Disable temporary network interference: Try turning off other Wi-Fi devices and Bluetooth connections nearby that might interfere with the setup process. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us on our Google Nest Help page here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Q: QuestionCan an extension cord be used if a plug is not nearby?
Asked by Poindexter.
- A:Answer Hi there, Poindexter! No, we don’t recommend using an extension cord. To ensure the safety, security and protection of both Nest Cam (Battery) and the cable that you will use, especially if you will place it outdoors, it’s always a better option to use the Nest Cam Weatherproof cable instead. You may reach out to Best Buy support for help with the availability of this accessory.

Q: QuestionI would like to install a camera above my detached garage. Is there a limit fir the distance from my router to the Google camera? Do I need a wifi extender?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer Distance isn’t a limitation of the camera. It is all up to how you have your wireless network designed. If you can’t get good speed tests from your cell phone in that location then the cameras aren’t going to have good connection either. Every home or location is different and it is impossible for someone to give you specifics on your configuration. However like I said test the internet speed with your cell phone in that specific location and if you can’t get good speeds on your phone then yes you will need a wifi extender.

Q: QuestionI already have a Nest aware subscription. Will these cameras be able to be added to my account?
Asked by pmarz.

Q: QuestionPrevious reviewers are saying it's not compatible with the Nest App that my current doorbell and outdoor wired camera is on. Is this true? Can I integrate this camera with my Nest App and other cameras?
Asked by JG.
- A:Answer Unfortunately this camera is NOT compatible with the google Nest app which to me is a huge disappointment. You have to use the Google "Home" app which does not work with a PC. So you can't even see the camera's output on a PC, which you obviously can with their other cameras.
Answered by AlanD963
Q: QuestionIf I were to by 6 of them will they all work under the same account and app?
Asked by PS5s.
- A:Answer Yes, you will be able to scroll and see all the cameras in 1 account from Nest. If you plan to buy 6 of them, Google is giving you a price discount right now directly from their Google store. A 6 pack on Google is selling for $596.00 as of 8/20/21.
