You need to plug a Nest Camra into an outlet. There are other brands that run on batteries which might be easier for you. The outdoor camera comes with a very long cord & instructions suggested that you could drill a hole into your house wall & plug it in on the inside. I wouldn't want to create a hole in the wall but some people opt to do this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've seen videos where people cut the power cord so they can run it through the exterior wall without drilling such a big hole. I considered that but it immediately voids your warranty, understandably. I know it can be done but I didn't want to take that risk. Maybe run an extension cord from an outlet to the place where the power cord will be entering the house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope. Power only, not battery.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We had a electrician install an outlet outside in a high location, front door entry way. It was easy for him to do and inexpensive .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I cut my cord and hardwired it in with no problems
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, hardwired, same as plugged in.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, but a hole will have to be drilled and sealed to get the cord into an interior wall.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The unit just has a regular electrical plug. So, you will need an outlet somewhere within the 25 feet of the cord it has. You mention hardwiring it into the house, in that case you could potentially tap into the electrical somewhere and put an outlet near where you need it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The cameras must be plugged into power.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, I don't believe you can hard wire these into anything except an outlet
