QuestionDo I have to have the Nest door bell camera to use the outdoor cameras or can I use them without it? Also, if I can use these without the doorbell can I still speak to someone through these or will I need the doorbell for that?

- Answer Must use the included wire for each camera and they come with nice wire holders you use with a screw. My home was built in 1922 and my landlord has siding on it and it is easily hidden under the siding and barely can see where thin wire runs into windows whereas the windows still lock as I have an alarm system and the screen also fits perfect with the wire too.

- Answer You plug it into a regular plug and the wire is simply thin it can be ran into your attack and you can purchase longer extensions if needed. You can also use the wire holders which come in the package which make it look professional and crisp. I have owned several brands and the Nest Outdoor Camera is the best in my opinion. The reason they must be plugged in to a power source is due to the quality of video and all the features it has. The battery operated cameras doesn’t allow you to stream video nonstop on a product like the Google Home Hub which I use along with the app. Even though the wires are thin and required, it didn’t stop me from purchasing three total cameras yesterday. I have own one in the past and had home invasion and before it was damaged, it recorded great video quality which helped catch the criminals involved. I have since moved and just feel comfortable with this brand as it never has disappointed me whatsoever. I give it 5 stars without doubt! The image I’m attaching is from the Google Home Hub and it’s only recording at the moment in 720 as I have too much smart devices on my WiFi which I will be upgrading when XFINITY opens then change all three to highest quality, 1080. The cameras themselves doesn’t use a ton of bandwidth though, I have over 12 smart home products hooked up along with my TV, cable box, MacBook, and iPhone.. oh yea, and the Xbox...

QuestionI don't have a outdoor power source but want something outside my door of my condo. I dont have a doorbell. I want to be notified if there is someone outside my door. Can this do this? Without a subscription?

- Answer I installed one of mine above the door and I the wire is so thin, you can discreetly run it on the bottom of you door which is hardly noticeable and doesn’t crimp the cord either. I own three of them and you can also discreetly run it through a window which my hom has new energy efficient windows and the wire allows the window to close and lock, also it doesn’t cause any issues with my alarm system sensors. The package comes with professional mounting wire holders which screw in. Also, the wire can be painted to match your home. I highly suggest this camera and brand. Nest cameras are amazing products and the brand is super excellent and impressive!

- Answer If you have the attachment that screws into the socket which allows a light to be screwed into along with a plug, yes, you can do it this. I would wrap the setup with a load of black electrical tape just to be certain it is well waterproof and not cause any concerns with shocking and whatnot. I did this at the home I lived at prior to moving into into the historic 100 year old home I live in now. I had to actually run the cords discreetly into the windows on the second floor there is no outdoor plugs and not many lights except landscape lighting (the neighbor allows me to use her outside plug and I pay her $20 bucks a month so it isn’t dark in the front) and power pole lighting. The windows closed and locked without an issue and they are new storm energy efficient windows and the screens fit perfectly on too. You can’t tell the wires are going into the house via windows and my alarm system window sensor pads aren’t effected either.

- Answer I don’t believe so but you can save motion and sound events onto your MacBook or Laptop but unsure if you can do so without the subscription. I find it cheaper than other brands and the cameras themselves can’t be compared to Arlo, I have tried them in the past and returned them. If you want to stream nonstop like I do on my Google Home Hub, Arlo’s batteries would die after something like 3 continuous hours.
