Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Alerts are generally 10-15 seconds after an incident and are dependent upon your phone type (Apple, Android) and its notification settings. On my iPhone, there isn't much you can do to make the alert more obvious than a typical notification but I bet Android gives you more flexibility for something like this.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I get an alert within seconds. My bedroom is in front of the backdoor to my yard. I have a pet door and as the animals come and go, I get an alert. I hear the pet go out the door, then immediately receive a ping alert that the camera detected movement. I do believe one can choose how sensitive an alert they want when notified. If someone sleeps that soundly that they cannot hear the ping of an alert, I suggest they set the phone notification to vibrate then sleep with the phone.

The text alerts do have a different sound than my regular text messages, which is pretty audible. If you're thinking this will be super real time (less than the 18 seconds above), probably not the best use of your money.
