Hello, So the nest outdoor camera is powered by plugging into an outlet. It comes with a basic cord where you plug one end into the camera, and plug the other end into an outlet. Thankfully, it also comes with an extension cord that increases the length of the wire if your outlet is far away. It also comes with wall clips so that your wire does not hang loosely. There is nothing else needed to wire it in. All you need is an outlet, the wire, the wall clips, an IOS or android device, and a good internet connection. Let me know if this helped!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They provide a cable and plug. Just like when you get a cell phone. You have to use their cable or the picture/video will suffer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is a USB cable from the camera to a power puck and the power puck has a long power cord to hook up to an outlet. I ran the USB cable down my wall into a vent opening into my crawlspace where I had an outlet to connect the power puck too. You can also connect it to an outside outlet but you would need one with a locking cover so that somebody couldn't easily disconnect it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The camera itself is USB, if you have a regular Nest Cam, it is exactly the same. Also included in the box is the power adapter for that USB. The power adapter is basically a long extension cord. It plugs into the wall, and on the end, is the actual adapter, to which the USB plugs into. They recommend using their adapter only, so you'll need an electrical outlet.
