“I have unlimited data on my smartphone so if I am driving down the road can I still watch what is going on at home as long as the camera is hooked up to my wifi at home”

Yes, if you have a good wifi connection at home & on your phone.. you can watch 24/7. There is no need though, as the camera has options to sent motion and sound alerts that can prompt you to watch when there is activity.
