The outdoor one is a lot larger mount wise. If you know that they will mount outside then go for it. If it will be inside, then use the regular one as it's mount can be much better used to place the camera on things. There also may be a problem with blinding the camera out as the outdoor one seems to have more ir lights at night. I use 4 inside ones on top of the outdoor one and they have worked very well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is not designed to be placed indoors but it is possible.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So far the only problem is the camera drops from our home network from time to time. Not sure if it's the location of the router or camera itself. Soon I'll be moving router from second floor to first floor to confirm
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We bought the outdoor version b/c it was rated higher than the older indoor camera. It works well in the house and we intend to deploy it outside when the indoor camera is upgraded by Nest. The outdoor version requires that you screw a small metal baseplate to the wall and the camera is held magnetically. The camera will swivel in the mount. The indoor version appears to have a pedestal mount that will sit on a bureau / desk etc. The outdoor version will not sit reliably upon these surfaces. Cheers! Joe
