You have to pay for the service, which is through Brinks, to get emergency services. Kind of disappointing because you also pay for nest aware so you have two subscriptions to worry about.

Please try again later.No, the system will require a monthly monitor services (I believe it only works with one) if you would like it to automatically alert authorities when system is armed and has been triggered. However, you'll get an alert on your phone and can call the cops if needed.

Please try again later.No, Nest Secure Alarm system (Nest Detect is a part of the system) will not call the police without the Professional Monitoring subscription provided by Brinks Home Security, if the alarm is triggered. You will also be notified of the alarm on the Nest App which can help you respond and call the police yourself.
