If you tell the Nest app that you are placing it on a window, by default the Nest app will disable the motion detector. I'm sure you could tell it that it is being placed on a door to enable the motion detector. To directly answer your question, if the notion sensor is blocked by the blinds, then yes it will interfere with the sensor.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. In that case you will not be able to use motion detection feature effectively and may even get false alarms by accidental blind movement. That is the reason I believe while installing it asks what configuration you want to use near detect.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you place the nest detect on a window (and set it as a window) the motion sensor is disabled. There are 3 options for these devices- on a door (both open/close & motion) on a window (just open/close) and as a motion detector (just motion).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The motion sensor feature is disabled for window installs - that can't be overridden. The motion sensor only works on doors and walls.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nest will keep sensing the movement of the blinds and waking up. Besides that no other impact.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That would depend on placement I can tell you anything blocking the sensor Like blinds or curtains nerfs the motion sensor in that particular one BUT if you feel this will be a problem and don't need it as an open / close sensor try putting it on the wall by the window. My place is set up so that even IF you bust through a window you get picked up by a sensor within 5 ft. consider the sweep of the motion detect I think its 15ft So other than entry doors discreet places on the walls are great. for instance I have 1 on my Arcadia but I have curtains there the one placed in the kitchen will catch anything. Also remember the base acts as a motion sensor as well. I know a wordy answer but I hope it helps
