I replaced my original Nest Hello with the 2nd gen model. Voltage and current requirements are the same, and the new model works off the same transformer as the previous one.

The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) has a voltage requirement of 16 to 24 VAC and a power requirement of 10 to 40 VA for North America. For Global it has a voltage requirement of 12 to 24 VAC and a power requirement of 8 to 40 VA. A traditional doorbell system uses very little power, but Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) has a specific power requirement so it can continuously record video. Make sure that the transformer (power supply) meets the specific power requirements. We encourage you to Check Nest Doorbell compatibility: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9247132
