You can connect it to your existing doorbell chime. It will work with any one, you just attach it to the chime wiring inside the box (per the instructions).

Some doorbell systems are incompatible or can't deliver enough power. So, if you plan to connect a Nest doorbell to a doorbell's wiring, you should first confirm that the doorbell system works, and you can use the doorbell compatibility checker to find out which Nest doorbells are compatible with your home, here: https://store.google.com/intl/us/widget/compatibility/doorbell/ Thankfully, you can connect a Google speaker or display and set up visitor announcements if you want to get notified when someone rings your doorbell when you’re home. You'll only get visitor announcements on your speakers and displays if they are set up in the same home as your doorbell in the Home app. Learn more using this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451 Additionally, Alexa can announce when a Nest doorbell detects motion, or when someone presses the doorbell button.
