Google for the best installation video. Then you can see it's about wire availability. Open your current thermostat panel and see the wires and which would Nest control, it's part of the video.

I have 6 Nest Thermostat's on both a hot water zone system and a Bryant Natural Gas furnace, and the install was very quick, and easy. In the set up, the thermostat will ask what fuel type, and propane is one of the options. I think you are good to go, and will enjoy them immensely. Round out your Nest system with Nest Protects... you will enjoy the entire system. Don In Denver
