Q: QuestionI’ve had a Nest for three years. It is working though it says it is offline. WiFi is working. I saw a message that batteries need to recharge. I don’t see batteries. What do I do?

• A:Answer If you remove the thermostat from the base plate, you can recharge the internal lithium battery using the usb wire included with your thermostat.

Q: QuestionI am struggling to find much information on Geo fencing. If I have my phone and my wife’s phone added to the Nest Application, will it also geo-fence hers? The “what decides when you are home” is set to my phone, so will it see when she is away also?

• A:Answer As long as you're both listed as users in the app, each phone will work independent of each other. Make sure both phones are set to allow Nest to use the phones location all the time (not just when using the app).

Q: QuestionDoes this Thermostat have temperature differential? Ex. If I set the heat temp at 70, can I set the heater to come on at 68. I don't like the heater coming on every 10 min at a .5 degree change like some.

• A:Answer No fee is charged, upfront, or monthly. Unless you pay someone to install it for you, then that is a different point altogether, but if one is capable of reading and following instructions, one should be able to install it oneself. I would suggest checking the current thermostat brand and wiring disposition with the webpage to assure compatibility of the device before actually purchasing. Cheers!

• A:Answer No. They don't have to be the same generation, the generation is just a little more advance software, but mostly the same. You can add all of them under same app and same control functions.

• A:Answer We don't have a whole house humid (I'm assuming you mean it's part of the furnace system?) I would assume it does/can because it tracks humidity. Obviously check with your installer.

• A:Answer It can for many systems. I have a furnace only with a two wire thermostat and it is compatible. No C wire needed. You would need to contact nest support to make sure yours is compatible.
