Coast rechargeable Zithion-x batteries (from Menard's) worked for 9 days before my Nest Protect complained about low batteries. I expected something like that since they simulate alkaline batteries. I then tried XTAR LI rechargeable 4150 mWh batteries and they only worked until the nightly voltage check, even though they are supposed to be like Lithium batteries until 10% SoC. You need batteries that stay above 1.54 Volts for a couple months (that seems to be the cutoff for the low battery warning), which is what the disposable Energizer battery it's designed to work with does. At least it works for a couple months before failing. Please let me know if you find anything that'll work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this product can be used with rechargeable batteries.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are two types, one with in internal battery and another that can be hard wired to your electrical system. I would assume you could use rechargeable batteries in the battery model.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nest doesn't recommend any batteries other than the exact type it comes with. The battery life is multiple years, however. It does a countdown starting 6 months out from needing replacement, to give you the idea of scale. It wouldn't be cost effective to use rechargeables even if they worked.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you can change battieres but most likely nest will last 10 years before you ever have to change it .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Why bother with rechargeables? The batteries they come with last 10 years as it is.
