If you have more than one thermostats, then match the number of thermostats you currently have. Some homes may have one cooling unit but two thermostats -one for each floor. So its basically matching number of thermostats and not cooling units.

Please try again later.If you have a home with two thermostat if you replace one with the nest it will only control that furnace/ac. if you want the other furnace/ac to work you will need to put a nest on that on too. That is how I understand it we have two floors two units I purchased and replaced both, each floor in my house is set differently according to our schedule and the nest can learn that schedule for each floor and furnace/ ac
