“Can i use this in a van? And if so will it tell me the temp when I'm not inside, for example if my van is in the parking lot and I'm on a school campus. Does it have a specific radius i guess is what im trying to say.”

No. This product needs to be linked to a nest brand thermostat and connected to the same wifi and the nest thermostat.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, the Nest Temperature Sensor needs to be within range of a hub device such as the Nest Thermostat. A example of where this could work would be if you have a Nest Thermostat at home and you had your van outfront, in your driveway or in your garage and had a Nest Temperature Sensor inside it and within range of the hub you could see. However, the range isn't that far, I believe it's 30m or so.
