- Answer You only need to plug in one of the devices and it becomes your "base" station. The others will connect to it wirelessly to create your mesh - so no you do not need to have a wired uplink on each of them to have service across them / extend your network.

- Answer 150 feet may be at the absolute outer range of what these can accommodate from what I have observed. I have a 3 unit system and each device is only 1 floor apart in a slightly staggered fashion. When I move them more than maybe 50 feet from each other there is a noticeable drop off in signal strength. The real question is will that distance you mention be behind thick walls and what kind of other obstacles would be present.
