• if you have a carrier like Verizon or ATT you get the phone and activate it on your existing plan but there is a activation fee so I think its just better to get the unlocked activate later deal

• It's means activating todya before leaving the store unlocked phones dont have to be activated

• It means, officially add it to your wireless account, and sign a contract. That's why they offer it cheaper.

• Best Buy would love if you activated your phone in store on the same day with either Sprint or Verizon, and the discount you see on product pages includes this activation.

• It means if you had purchased an unlocked phone, you could activate it through a cellphone company such as Verizon, Sprint, A,T&T, or T Mobile and be assigned a cellphone plan.
