It's Verizon's 5G mmWave tax. It requires extra antennas inside the phone so manufacturers have to charge more or cut corners to keep the same price. Verizon is selling all these 5G phones and most people's phones may never even ENCOUNTER their 5G network. The unlocked version will still work on Verizon, you just won't be able to connect to their useless non-existent 5G network haha.
