The unlocked version can be use with your carrier - you can take your SIM out of the old phone and place it in the new one and be ready to go - use the cable they provide - plug it into both phones and copy your data and apps over.

They have all the carriers so just need to swap sim and they will activate it for you with your carrier. Price should be the same for unlocked version.
