“I have a hard to reach place in my house because of a brick wall. Can I connect one device to my router then connect a second one to the first to get around the wall or do each one need to be connected to the router?”

These run off of your modem. You plug one into the modem and then place the second or third wherever you would like. These would most likely work a lot better than a regular router would for your situation.
