Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have an Apple Airport router connected to the Main Google Wifi Pod. So you can definitely use a router in series with the Google Wifi Pods. However, YOU MUST CONNECT THE CABLE MODEM TO YOUR GOOGLE POD AND CONNECT THE GOOGLE POD TO THE ROUTER. I made the mistake of going from the cable Modem to the router and from the router to Google. That killed the speed to 1/10th the service speed from 150 MBPs to 15 MBPs. So I know how you connect it makes a huge difference. I am not sure why you would need a booster because Google Wifi Pods are far superior to any boosters/extenders I have used. Believe me, I wasted a lot of money on booster/extenders that NEVER performed as advertised.

The analytics, ease of setup, and the signal strength are unmatchable. I highly recommend this for anyone experiencing frustrations with their current wifi and are using a telecom issued router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well it really depends. Some fiber optic systems just have a Ethernet jack that you connect a router to for wifi, others still have a modem. Basically as long as the current device you use for CenturyLink isn't providing services to like a TV service from them or a VOIP home phone from them then you should be able to simply install Google wifi and plug it into the Ethernet jack from the wall. That'a if the device isn't acting as a Modem like some like Google Fiber or AT&T Fiber where you have to use there provided gateway but can plug another router into. If it is acting as a Modem you can simply plug this into one of the Ethernet parts and disable the wifi on the CenturyLink unit. The latter would also work with the Ethernet only setups but I prefer if the device isn't needed then get rid of it.
