Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Dylan. You don't need to replace your modem as you will need new to proved the Google devices with a connect. In your case, I recommend turning off your modem's Wi-Fi and using the Google devices for Wireless. One thing you can also do is to name your new wireless network the same as your existing one, and of you have a Wi-Fi password, assign the same one to the new setup. This will allow all your existing devices (if they support it) to connect without having to be reconfigured.

Just connect one of the Google WiFi router units to the modem via one of the Ethernet connections, and set it up like you normally would. To avoid wi-fi channel congestion, I would also deactivate the modem/router's wi-fi network, which you should be able to do in its settings. (Look in the modem/router manual to see how to do that -- you can search for it on the web if it didn't come with a manual.)

Please try again later.No you can either use both independently or you can bypass it altogether. to bypass it you would simply plug it in to the main wan port and from then on it would provide your wifi and internet. but understand each node only has one port so you can only have a wired connect for one device on each, unless you get a hub.
