It needs to be connected to a cable modem or DSL, etc.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is not standalone and needs to connect to an existing modem. Only had mine a couple of days so I'm not ready to post a review yet. Not completely sold.

The other two (if you decide to use a mesh network) do not need to be physically connected to them as they connect wirelessly with each other but do require being plugged into a power outlet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.One of the three must be connected to electricity and your modem; the others merely need electricity. To get even more coverage into nooks and crannies, hopefully, we have ordered a second set. Will keep you posted, as to the results.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.These units are routers, so they will still need to be hooked up to your ISP's modem (cable/DSL/etc) in order to provide internet access. They do provide WiFi, but will still need the modem attached.
