Yes, this will give you much better WiFi coverage and speed over your ATT equipment. Best bet is to put your ATT modem on bridge mode and then use google WiFi as the only router.

The routers a designed to create a seamless network between each google wifi router. Slow downs will occur depending on the distance between the routers but the connection between routers tends to be strong and will be negligible for daily use.
