I have Verizon as well. From my understanding, it will not boost your cell phone reception, but if you log in to wifi on your phone, your messages will come through even when you are in a dead zone. The message plus app works over wifi. I know this to be true because I have used my phone out of the country on wifi only and was able to still text using the message plus app.

On top of having "back of the hill away from the tower" wireless service, our home has a steel roof, so reception is lousy. BUT, once we got the Google Fiber network installed and got these repeaters set up, it's balls to the wall for speed and reliability for wireless service. Of course, you need to remember to set your phone to wifi calling and whatever other settings need to support the wifi network.
