“I have several TP-Link Wifi switches that REQUIRE 2.4GHz. I've seen a couple of comments on other mesh systems saying they won't support 2.4GHz. Will the Google system work with 2.4GHz devices?”

The Google WiFi works with both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Rather than you having to make the switching the Google WiFi does it for you. It determines what is needed and that is what it delivers. If you have a 5Ghz device it will deliver that as well.

Google wifi supports a dual band system and I am almost certain it will work for you. I love it.

Yes, its both 2.4 and 5GHz and if you use this you can switch out the TP-Links.
