U can use them at 3 different residences if want they are all wireless individual routers. So no one isn't the primary
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any one of the pods can be used as the dedicated base unit, as long as it’s connected directly to the Internet modem. Once that was us set up the rest feed off that broadcasted signal. Very easy to set up! Did it all through my phone..
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 3 units are exactly the same, all of them have a power and ethernet input, connect anyone of them to your DSL/Cable modem, configure it and then go one by one for the other two to configure the mesh. Hope this helps cover your doubts.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Any one of the units can be used as the primary unit. I've just purchased this and installed it today. It seems to need a router to work, despite their advertisement otherwise. Indeed use any one of the set as the 'primary'. It (the primary) was intended to connect directly to a modem that has internet access. However it only functioned once it was connected to an additional router. So in summery the system works like this: Connect any one of the units (and therefore designate it yourself) as the 'primary' unit to a router that is connected to the modem. Using that unit as a 'primary' and then add the 'satellites', i.e. the other two units. Google customer service was helpful but could not set up the system without an additional router. Here is their customer service direct line: 1-844-442-3693 Good luck--this one took me two hours with continuous phone customer service support to set up.
