It is easy to cross thread the bolt. I have gotten into the habit of slowly turning the bolt backwards while pushing in until I feel a "click" that's when you know the thread lead is engaged ensuring is not going to cross thread. At that point you should be able to tighten the bolt securely without issue. Hopefully the threads aren't damaged already.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can pull apart the the flexible part with moderate force. There's a nut inside that I suspect has come out of the "holder" just pull it apart then fix the nut inside and snap it back together after.
