If you're using external power, the length of your recording will depend on the resolution you choose and the size of the SD card you use. For example, if you have a 128GB card and want to shoot at 5.3K and 60 fps, you should get about two hours of recording time. At lower resolutions and frame rates, you could get more than six hours of recording time. And the HERO12 does allow for an external mic to be connected as well as some Bluetooth headsets. For mics, you'll need to use the GoPro Media Mod or a Pro Mic Adapter to make the connection.
