• No they have differnt modes but no zoom but when you upload them on you computer or tablet u can zoom and crop and edit photos and the clarity even of something far away zoomed in is amazing

• No exactly. Depending on the video resolution, there are 2 or 3 predefined modes with 'narrow' available up to 1080p and giving you the narrowest view, thus the largest zoom. Campared to zoom on a photo camera, even narrow is tending towards wide-angle.
