The hero 4 might be a better choice for underwater use since it comes with a housing capable of 131' depths VS the Hero 5's 33' on it's own without housing. You have to ask yourself when you go in the water a various depths, do you feel lucky punk.... Is it worth the voice control and some other features the 5 has.... maybe, your call.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The biggest difference I've noticed is that the Hero 5 is completely waterproof without a skeleton housing, which is required for the Hero 4. Also, the Hero 5 has voice control where as the Hero 4 does not. Almost forgot, the Hero 4 does not have a touch screen built in like the Hero 5. I had to buy an external screen for my Hero 4 Black.
