• Hero 5 black has an external mic input. The session and Hero 5 session do not.

• Yes, you can use an external mic with the GoPro Hero5 Session using the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter. Sadly its not available through Best Buy but it is on Amazon. Just search for, "GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter"
