Yes you can, you will need the gopro USB type C to 3.5 MM aux jack adapter. Works great with my BOYA MIC

You can connect external mics to the HERO8 Black, but you will need an adapter. You can use either the GoPro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter or the Media Mod for the HERO8.
