“Is it password protected? Meaning can someone shut it off without, my permission? Also does it need to be charging too record, or does it have a battery life? Lastly do my recordings stay on thr camera or upload to the cloud?”

It can be connected while charging but it doesn't have to be connected in order for it to function. Battery's life is @50 minutes.

GoPro cameras can operate off of the battery or by a power cord. Recordings stay on the SD card you use with your GoPro, and you can set it up to auto-upload to the cloud as well if you prefer.
