If that's happening, try updating the camera's firmware (you can do this through the GoPro Quik app or manually by following instructions on the GoPro site) and try removing the SD card. Some SD cards are not ideal for use in a GoPro and can cause the camera to use more power, which increases the heat that's generated. Removing the SD card will help determine if the issue is with the SD card or with the camera. Regarding the app, you'll want to use the GoPro Quik app. It is available for iPhone and is available in English.
