• Was it a zipped up case? Because the first answer here was a "nice box". The nice box doesn't even close at one end.

• It should absolutely come with a case, the O ring, and the charging cable. Just return it for another one.

• I just bought mine a few weeks ago and it definitely comes in a case for easy transportation. Also inside the case with it are the charging cable and mounting ring for attachment on GoPro mounts.
