• No This plugs directly into the back of the camera so you cannot separate the two. If you want that functionality then use the GoPro app on your smartphone and remote control it.

• It must be attached to the camera to use it. It gets power from the camera battery and does not have its own built in battery. It also does not have any wireless capabilities. Its just an add on touch screen.
