GoTrax recommends ages 16+ for these e-Bikes. Might be a bit too complicated for 9, with the combination of e-bike, controls, and folding latches.
Because the handlebar/tiller assembly is hinged just above the top tube, the grips can only be only lowered to a minimum of about 35" from the ground.

Yes the handlebars go lower they are 20-in wheels has your child riding a bike with 20 inch wheels before? Try to find a local store that has one unboxed and on display

Hi Kim, thanks for your interest in our products! This e-bike is not targeted for kids, the dimensions of it though are 53.4" x 22.8" x 39.3". The handlebars are straight and cannot be lowered.
