I’ve been using this daily for a month and my granddaughter also has one she uses daily. We have not had any issues with the non-stick surface. I researched reviews from different sites and no one has complained about the coating coming off.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It appears to be a teflon non stick coating, almost same as my Ronco 'set it forget it rottisserie base bottom pan. I use the sponge with the liquid in handle & the green scour pad but I soak in HOT water 1st then use the sponge with little effort as not sure how well that coating is adhered. I use the same steps on the rack as well, gently scrub but I soaked it & do immediately after while its hot. Do the next day even after soaking, you'll get frustrated. Now A word of caution BELOW, *ONLY* if readers also have the 'RONCO-"Set it & Forget it" Rotisserie!! Here's a short story about that other Ronco "set it forget it" rotisserie. I had a prob with Ronco rotisserie as the teflon coating almost like peeled off in spots in that bottom tray. So I couldnt save the juice in that one because I feared that coating pieces in the juice. So here we go!! I tried putting foil lining one Thanksgiving doing a turkey in that rotisserie." Set it forget it" as the famous infomercial said. Long story short, told the wife "DO NOT BOTHER ME Cowboys are playing"! Next hour plus cooking I hear 'turkeys on fire'. Im watching the game play totally oblivious & hear 'TURKEYS ON FIRE" again, still sticking to my ignoring her & watching that play & then hear "AL THE F'ING TURKEY IS ON FIRE"!! !!! So in corner of eye can see flashing on the walls in the kitchen. Jump up, round the corner of dining room from living room, the turkey is on fire! It's hitting the cabinets, just caught the curtain window on fire, so I yanked the curtain down into the sink, unplugged the Ronco, reached under the sink & grabbed a rubber glove, thick kind that coincidentally came WITH the Ronco! Pulled glass door down, draped a small towel over the turkey having pulled it out slightly. Yeah, never forgot THAT! Years later divorced, I let her have it. I found another at a garage sale, never used!! Only $10. But NOW on the box & inside all over, sticker on glass "DO NOT TAKE SET & FORGET LITERALLY OR CAN CAUSE FIRE",LOL!! However, what happened with me though I will admit (MY fault), was that foil lining I put in was working very well. But the turkey wing string came loose & a wing started dragging into the foil lined pan. Over & over till it snagged the foil & lifted it up and over the back inside, grease & all, right onto the electrode burners, therefore a fast flash fire started! Yep, always an adventure here on Thanksgiving!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Seems to be a teflon. Have owned the air fryer for 7 months and the teflon is flaking off of the crisper. I soak it and wash it with a non-abrasive plastic brush. Contacted Gourmia for a replacement and hopefully, I will receive one without a charge.
