Thank you for your question! Our 24V charger cannot be used to charge a 40V battery and vice versa. Greenworks manufactures a range of voltage platforms from 24V - 80V, each voltage platform has its own set of interchangeable tools and battery but are not interchangeable across different voltage platforms. Only Greenworks batteries, chargers and machines of the same voltage are compatible and interchangeable with one another. 2Ah, 4Ah or 6Ah represents the ampere-hour (Ah) rating. This rating relates to how much run time the battery can offer. The higher the Ah rating is, the greater the run time.
