Once the software is install and activated there are automated prompts which ask you if you want to check for the latest updates from the site. Also in the tools tab there is an Update button to manual start the update process. Complete sections and forms repopulate automatically after updates. I suggest buying the software version with 1 state forms download. Called H&R Block Federal+State ~$40 if you didn't and want to download your state forms. Printing Filing the state form you downloaded is free but, there is a charge to e-file state forms Online ( I think the charge is ~30).
