Hi there – thanks for reaching out. According to the Installation Instructions, the space between the cabinets must be at least 24” wide. If there is a wall to the left of this microwave, the door will not be able to be opened freely and at least a 1” clearance is needed to freely open the door. If there is a wall to the right of this microwave, no additional clearance is needed. Hope this helps and feel free to reach out anytime. Warm regards. Lauren@Haier
