Correction to my post below. Unfortunately I can't edit it. I just power cycled the microwave and if you don't set the clock on reset it will stay off! Problem solved. Also the annoying buzzer I complained about might be a regulatory issue.

Then that same night I realize the clock is even more annoying as it lights up my 1 bedroom condo with no way to disable it. For the price, little features like this should have been a no brainer and would have made me a lifetime customer.

We're finding that this model microwave doesn't have a Display on/off feature or Clock on/off feature. There isn't a way to turn off the clock display.
