“How does one turn off the clock when it is not being used? I live in a very small bachelor sweet and the light from the numbers is very bright and makes it hard to sleep.”

I had the same problem with clock brightness and discovered that if the power is disconnected from the unit (unplug or turn off breaker) the clock will be off when reconnected. Then just be sure not to touch the clock button which turns it back on.
