The doors need a 1" clearance to open. The nice thing about this fridge is that the crisp draw will come out with the doors opened at a 90° angle. However, the shelves will not so make sure to remove all the packing tape and stuff and adjust your shelves to the spaces you want them to be in before you install them. I love this fridge.

For two of these refrigerators to be side-by-side with the capability of opening the doors on both units at 90 degrees at the same time, you will need at least 2-1/6" (1-1/32" x 2 from) between them.
