“Can this Haier be placed inside a cabinet with 1” air surround replacing a built in?”

The instructions state “allow 2 inches of space behind the refrigerator” for ventilation. So if you can keep it 2 inches from the back wall I’d imagine it would be fine. It doesn’t say anything about space on the side or installation in a cabinet.

This refrigerator needs at least 2 inches of space on each side and the top of the refrigerator to ensure proper ventilation. It should not be recessed or built in an enclosed cabinet, as it's designed for freestanding installation only.
